Fabulite substitute for diamond

Fabulite, or strontium titanate, was first made in the United States in 1953.
The name “fabulite” is the trade name for this diamond substitute from the years 1955 to 1970.
Fabulite has a dispersion and therefore a much stronger fire than diamond for very close refractive indices, 2.417 for fabulite against 2.41 for diamond.
Production was discontinued from the 1970s with new imitations such as zircon first and then moissanite in 1998.
