Tourmaline Rubellite, rectangle cut with cut sides, 4.55 carats, origin Brazil

Rubellite of perfect crystallization with a fuchsia red color for a deep luminous radiance on all the facets of the gem.

It was not until the beginning of the 13th century that the Dutch brought tourmaline from Sri Lanka under the indigenous name of “Turamali” which means “stone of mixed colors”, noting that these stones attracted the ash of their pipe, they named them “Aschentrekker” which means “stone that attracts ashes”.
