Description
The name “quartz” was introduced by Georgius Agricola (1494/1555) in 1529, a 16th century scholar considered the father of mineralogy.
Smoky quartz is one of the colored variants of mineral quartz, it is a macrocrystalline quartz. Formerly referred to as smoky quartz, smoky quartz gets its name because of its color, it is transparent to translucent, rarely opaque, and has a glassy luster.
Very pretty fine stone that can be mounted in jewelry.
